The Blue Ridge Volunteer Fire Department provides first due emergency response to an area beginning at the Roanoke County line to the south, following the Bedford County line to the east and following the mountain ridges and the Blue Ridge Parkway to the West and North. The Blue Ridge Volunteer Fire Department also responds to mutual aid requests in neighboring areas of Botetourt, Roanoke, and Bedford Counties.
